Project 365 ~ Week 25

Hey there y’all! Well it was a good week as weeks go. The evil fairies were at bay and the hormonal rollercoaster was on a decline so I am claiming success for at least a little while any way! I actually have some pictures to show y’all this week!

So let’s get at it!

Sunday, June 12

We sent the girl child off on choir tour today! They were headed to Mobile, Alabama for their first stop then on to Katy, Texas, then on to San Antonio and then back home again!

This is my DD and her gal pals…happy faces looking forward to a good week!

What this meant was…I was going to have the entire week all to myself. The hubs had informed me that he had to go out of town for business for the entire week as well! Awwww jeee wizzz….. a whole week all to myself…what was I going to do with myself!!!!

the answer…WHAT. EVER. I. WANTED!

Monday, June 13

Well my week to myself got off to a rather rocky start. The very first thing I ended up doing was taking my sweet Buster to the vet. I am not sure how he did it but he managed to nearly rip out one of his doggie nails. It took me about an hour of chasing him around and crawling under tables and around on my hand and knees before I finally figure out what the problem was. He was not a happy puppy and the nail was jutting out sideways from the side of his foot. Can you say painful!!!!!!!!

Well they had to cut the nail off at the quick, you know the little curly nail that is up on the side of the foot. Well they gave him some pain meds and some antibiotics and sent him home.

IMG_7169

Y’all he was one pathetic little puppy. Limping and hopping around. I looked around to see where he had settled and he was not in any of his usual spots. He never does this y’all but he had crawled into his crate and had curled up and gone to sleep.

I think this is sending a clear message…he was done with folks trying to touch his foot!

Tuesday,  June14

The Prayer Shawl Ministry has begun holding morning meetings during the summer. Given that I had the entire week to myself I told myself that if I got up early that morning then I would get my ducks in a row and head up to the church to have some fellowship time and work on my latest project.

I just love the earthy colors y’all!

I also had an ulterior motive as I wanted to make a trip to the Wal-Mart to get photograph albums. I had bought some prints from snap fish and I was eager to get them into an album. Easy, right? Well not so much. Do you think they had even one photograph album at Wal-Mart…that would be a BIG NO! I eventually found them at Hobby Lobby. I guess with the popularity of digital photos the demand for actual photograph albums is not a high priority. After searching the Hobby Lobby I eventually found a very small cardboard kiosk out in the isle with a very small selection of photo albums. After sorting thought their meager selection I came home with three red one that will coordinate with the red ones I have been working on here at home.

One of the things I try to do when I find myself with uninterrupted time on my hands is to work on those project that you just never have time to do, like working on the photograph albums. I got the Hawaii album finished…yea for me!

Wednesday, June15

The next day I finished up the Yellowstone album. I then moved on to the ongoing photograph album project. Now don’t we all have those photograph albums that we have had for 20 years. The ones that have the old yellow pages and really need to be transferred to the new acid free albums. One of the things I have learned as I have transferred some half a dozen albums into new ones is a concept that was foreign to me as a new mom… EDIT, EDIT, EDIT.

Does anyone really want to sit and look though every single picture ever taken. I guess I figure since I paid for all the prints then I needed to put them into an album. Y’all I had about 20 blurry pictures of my son learning how to swim, some of the picture you could not even see him only a small blurry splash, well needless to say I have condensed down a lot of my pictures. I think I finally have all the really old albums replaced with new ones. I still have one or two that may need to be replaced in a few more years but most of them are all holding up very well.

It was good to finally finish up with a very long running project.

Thursday, June 16

This falls under the category of a big giant duh!

Since I was working on my photograph albums I think I just had pictures on the brain. I took the time to do a bit of sorting of my pictures on the computer as well. I should have done this all along but I guess sometime my old brain synapse aren't firing on all thrusters if ya know what I mean. I now have all my pictures in separate folders sorted by the year they were taken in instead of having to scroll down through 7 years worth of daily folders.

“Momma always says stupid is as stupid does…”

IMG_7181

I love Project 365 but it does add up in the folder department! This has been much easier!

No pictures on Friday, June 17 ooooppppps!

Saturday, June 18

Back at the end of may I posted about the pineapple demonstration I saw when we were on Oahu. The lady who did the demonstration said that it would take about four months for the crown to begin to sprout. Well….it's been about three weeks.

 IMG_7182

Well I don’t know about you but I’d call those roots wouldn't you?

As soon as I can get my ducks in a row and get a suitable pot this bad boy is going in the dirt.

IMG_7183

Well that does it for me for this week. For more P365 y’all head over to Sara’s and link up!

Blessings

I did the same thing with a pineapple when I got home from Hawaii. I did grow a very small one....but it grew. My roots looked a lot like yours when I planted it.

That is so neat about the pineapple! Who knew? Certainly not me.

Your poor pup. Ouch! She looks so sad :(
Hope she heals quickly.

Goodness girl! Leave you alone for a week and look at what all you get done! :) Wanna come do the same at my house? LOL

Seriously, CONGRATULATIONS on all your productivity!

And hope you have time to recuperate this coming week. hahahaha

Poor puppy :( I hope he's feeling better by now.

I stopped doing photo albums after my Mom died. I don't have kids & we just really have no reason to even have them. I guess I was making them for my mom. I would be sad, but really I know that Mike & I are the only ones who'll REALLY enjoy our pictures anyway :)

My dog bites at her nails until they cause her so much pain. Those doggies... just like kiddos.

It IS hard to find nice photo albums. Isnt that crazy! I do love Hobby Lobby's albums though - & they're a great price too!

Cant wait to see what happens with your pineapple!!!

So is that just a pineapple you bought at the grocery store?

Congrats on getting your photos organized. All my digital ones are organized in files on my external hard drive (don't wanna crash my computer again) but anything already printed, well, that's another mess entirely.
