Be Still and Know...Then and Now

This rarely happens, I actually have a picture for each day this week. Don’t hold your breath because it will probably not happen again for quite some time! Sunday. February 3 Something happened during the Youth Worship that I thought would never ever happen… the Girlchild did a violin performance with three other members of her youth group. They did great y’all! I am hoping that this will be the first of many performances! Monday, February 4 Muffinhead always has a unique take on how to watch television. She would pop her head out of the tub and then pop back down for a few seconds. She had a great time, however the dog was a bit confused! Tuesday, February 5 Tuesday the cupboards were so bare that Muffinhead and I had to go out for lunch. We went to Chick-Fil-A. I tried their new Chicken Tortilla soup, it was very good! Some weeks ya got it and some weeks ya don’t! This week I had an unexpected boost of energy and several opportunities to put my creative juices to use.  Monday, July 23 Monday I canned a few tomatoes. I really did not have that many, however no one else in my family likes fresh tomatoes….I have wondered for a long time what is wrong with them! But I continue to love them any way regardless of this HUGE flaw in the taste buds! After struggling for several years trying to grow successful tomatoes for what ever reason this year I actually had some limited success. I only had enough tomatoes for four small jars but I have been wanting to try canning tomatoes for a long time and just never had enough to give it a go. It was a bit labor intensive for such a small amount but you work with what ya got sometimes! Tuesday, July 24 Are good friends the best or what! Well here is my week y’all! Sunday, March 18 Here is a picture of my first ever knitted article of clothing. Muffinhead’s mom and I found this pattern. It looked simple enough. She picked out some yarn that she liked and I got busy with my needles.   About half way through I began to suspect that it was going to be to large. When all was said and done it is about two, if not more, sizes to big. The DD even tried it on and it almost fit her.   Note to self": Never attempt to knit a garment without making a sample gauge first. The instruction called for size five needles. I actually had to go down to a size three needle to get the correct size gauge. Go Figure. My only problem now is that I have that nagging “Nanner Nanner Boo Boo” voice in the back of my head. We have a new addition. Maybe forever, maybe only temporary. We are giving the dog ownership a try. A dear friend’s daughter had to let go of this precious little one and my DD has been promised a dog for a while so when this opportunity came along we thought we would give it a try. He is 6 month old and from what my friend tells me he is a dachshund beagle mix. He had a restless night last night I am sure due to the unfamiliar surroundings, but after he tuckered himself out exploring his new surroundings he finely settled down around 1:30 am. He is house trained and goes to the door when he wants to go outside. We did have a few little accidents last night, due to the unfamiliar surroundings. He is in desperate need of bath as he is a bit aromatic but that will be taken care of in short order later this morning.
