Project 365 ~ Week 48

Image
Week 48! How did that happen? I only missed one day this week, not to bad I thought! Let’s get at it shall we…. Sunday, November 25 Who doesn't love a good Thanksgiving Dinner leftover sandwich. Well technically mine was not an authentic Thanksgiving sandwich since it was made with my left over Pork Loin Roast but I have to tell y'all it did the trick just the same. Now it feels like thanksgiving y’all! I did some cooking in my kitchen and I got my leftover sandwich! Monday, November 26 The Hubs put the tree up for me yesterday so it was a decorating day for me on Monday. I got the mantle done and a few other decorations placed around.     Tuesday, November 27 Every once and a while the dog will loose his mind and revert back to being a puppy. I thought I was going to have to worry about Muffinhead not begin able to keep her sweet little mitts off the tree….seems Buster took a liking to this ornament that Skoots1mom made for me last year. Oh well it was a nice add...

Project 365 ~ Week 17: Playdough, Mommy Treasures and a Party

Image
Monday, April 23 .98 cents worth of salt, $2.50 worth of flour and a few other ingredients and you have enough playdough to last the entire summer. Thursday, April 26 a little Then and Now!!!!! Every mom knows the moment they walk in and find their child sitting on the floor holding a pair of scissors surrounded by piles of wacked up hair! I think it must be some randomly pre programmed event that is built into every child's DNA. A lovely unexpected event placed by the Lord into each child's genetic make up. Like the roll of the dice you just never know when the program will occur. 1993 ~ My Son…………………………………1999 ~ My Daughter 2012 ~ Muffinhead found the scissors y’all! Needless to say mom was not very happy! Muffinhead and Angel Baby have matching heads now! Friday, April 27  The DD 17th birthday is this weekend. They made there own personal pizza’s, had a spa night and then spent the rest of the evening doing what teenage girls do best. Acting silly, giggling, talki...

Project 365 ~ Week 11: I can’t believe it has been three years…

Image
Monday, March 12 I bought on of these on Monday. I am still learning about all the features this has. However It has gone off several times this week. I can tell you that when it does go off it will defiantly get your attention. Especially if you are not prepared for a shrill blast to go off. Talk about jumping out of your skin. I think there may be a way to make it not be so loud but then doesn't thank kind of defeat the purpose.   As well as being prepared for the next wave of sever weather to come through I am stocked up on birthday cake supplies. Seeing as there is a birthday cake in my future later in the week this is a good thing. Tuesday, March 13 Muffinhead woke up to thunder and heavy rain. We had to go watch for a few minute at the window to assure ourselves that everything was ok and the rain was going to stay outside. Grandma: “Good morning sleepyhead.” Muffinhead hears the thunder: “It’s raining in my bedroom.” Grandma: “No! It’s raining outside!” Thursday...

She would have been 95 today!

Image
Today would have been my Grandma's 95 birthday! She has been hanging out with Jesus for six years now and I had the great privilege to be sitting at her bed side when she drew her last breath and Jesus came to usher her home. It is quite possibly one of the sweetest moment she and I ever shared together. I woke with thoughts of her on my mind. Since today was her birthday she has been on my mind all day.  I have been pondering on all the things she taught me and all the time I spent with her. This is my grandma, I don't remember her in this was, young and beautiful.  She has a look upon her face that says to me that she is thinking about something lovely or remembering a time when something wonderful happened. This photograph is how I envision my grandmother. In my childhood memories of her she look like this. When I think about her and all the things we did together this is the image that comes to mind. This is the face I see flipping fried eggs and peeling peaches. Thi...

How do I feel about being 49?

It is amazing the difference perspective brings to my life. When I think of my life and where I am at the ripe old age of 49. I see so many things that are surprising. I thought that the number 50 would bother me, but as I step into the year that I will draw near to this milestone I find that I am not as bothered by this approaching landmark as I thought I would be. The grey hairs kind of bug me at times, but not enough to exert the time, energy and expense to get rid of them. A blogging friend of mine called them credentials, Wow! I like that!! They aren’t grey hair or wrinkles they are credentials, have mercy!!!! The aches and pains are an inconvenience, but I have the perspective to recognize that they are minor in comparison to other physical health issues of some others that I know. The short term memory loss, (now what was I saying, why did I come in here and why are my car keys in the freezer?) this can be a blessing as it clears away the mind and allows me to simply lets go of ...
