Project 365 ~ Week 28

Image
Well needless to say when I looked back at my post archives my last Project 365 post was on W eek 24 and now we are on to W eek 28 . I am willing to cut myself some slack as there are 1300 plus photographs I am still weeding though that I took on our vacation. I still have several posts awaiting the final touches in my drafts that will be coming up in the next few days. I know y’all are dying to see all 1300 (NOT), so I am trying to pick only the most wonderful to share with  all of you! Well since I no longer have the excuse of recovering from vacation I will forge ahead into normalcy and jump right back in with this weeks 365. Sunday, July 4 Well with us just having stepped off the plane less that 48 house before we chose to spend the morning lounging at home. A HUGE departure for us. I can’t remember the last time we intentionally skipped worship. We were all exhausted so we just stayed to home and enjoyed a leisurely brunch. I made a huge plate of scrambled eggs, has...

Over 100 pounds!!!!

Well it’s coming in y’all. There has been a steady stream of fresh veggies headed to the co-op over the last few weeks. I am postponing my next vacation post in favor of all this magnificent greenage.  It has been a few weeks since I was able to get my hand in there and pitch in and help. However this morning we got a bumper crop of corn, tomatoes, okra, green beans and butter peas. We nearly filled up a five gallon bucket with butter peas alone. I am not exactly sure what a butter pea is, but I am told that you shell them and cook them like a butter bean or a lima bean.  There is a bit of a weed problem happening but it does not seem to be hindering the production at any rate. I spent just as much time pulling up the pesky weeds as I was making my way down the rows.   We estimated that we picked enough corn for 30 families @ 4 ears per family. All total we had a rough estimate of over 100 pounds of fresh produce that was delivered this afternoon to be given...

Project 365 ~ Week 24

The Hubs and DD just headed out the door to church. I however have made the ultimate sacrifice and have decided to keep my blossoming cold and all the nasty germs that go with it to myself. I am always willing to share, except for a very few things… a cold being at the top of my list. It’s hard not to share things when you sleep in the same bed, decades of programmed kissed on the cheek and loving pecks as you head out the door, we try to switch to foreheads during colds but sometime without thinking one gets by us and BLAM, it’s my turn for the sore throat, sniffles and generally feeling yucky! I have been faithfully taking my Zycam since about 6:30 this morning when I woke to a scratchy throat and a stopped up nose, yea for me! I sent the hubs off with instructions to bring me a new bottle of Zicam home after church and hopefully I can head this one off at the pass.  Moving on to more pleasant topics, as I am still able to sit upright and my fingers still work I pres...

Project 365 ~ Week 20

Y’all for this week I have to give myself a big fat “F” in the picture taking category. I only took pictures four out of the seven days. I have no explanation, the dog did not eat my memory card, I was not abducted by aliens, it just didn’t happen. So such as it is I move on… Sunday, May 09 One of my dearest friends was out of town on vacation last week. When these occasions arise my DD is hired to water the plants and feed the cat. We headed out there on Sunday afternoon to give the animal and the plants a nice drink. While the DD tended to the animal and the plants I had to snap off a few pictures. I think if I could pick any setting to live in it would be this friends home. It is a small log cabin set back off the road. When the trees are fully leafed out you can not even see the house from the road. It is one of the most picturesque, serene and peaceful settings I have ever seen. She has by far one of the greatest front porches on the planet. There is a wonderful swing and ...
