Be Still and Know...Then and Now

Who’s there? I am still pondering my lack of blog fodder, I think I have lost the capacity to come up with an original thought, or maybe I am just obsessed with the clay, it seems that's all I can think about…I wake up thinking about it and I go to sleep thinking about it! What I will make next, what I want to learn how to do next….. This is Angel #3….   My last angel bit the dust….literally!   Live and learn and keep practicing!!!!!!   I have to go wake the hubs up I a few minutes, and I was thinking about how quiet my house is this morning and how things change in life. of the World Bloggers Award Why do y’all blog? I know for me I started out not really knowing what all this blogging things was about. I was curious and I just want to find out more about it. Not to mention the concept of expressing myself through the written word, which holds great appeal to me. What I did not anticipate was the unique opportunities that blogger have every day to encourage, to laugh, to share, to spend a few minutes visiting with other blogging pals. I was not expecting to develop friendships with folks all over the country. I like that about blogging. It broadens your horizons in way that I just was not prepared for. Basically I feel like I know all y’all and most of you I have never even met. I think that very cool! Some weeks my blog is as dry as a bone, there are weeks when I  am filled to the brim, overflowing with things to share, insights to pass along. Well it’s been three years today that I started blogging. I went back and read my very first post and it was short and to the point. I have just spent that last few minutes revisiting some of my older post. If you haven't done it in a while I encourage you to go back and spend a few minutes giving them a re-read. It really does give you a different perspective on where you were juxtaposed against where you are in the present. Looking back I remember feeling like every post I did had to be heart felt or poignant or deeply spiritual. I still have my moments of profound spiritual recognition, my heartfelt cries of “woe is me” but over the course of these three years so much has happen and not much has happen. Life goes on and it changes every day. My one regret is that I did not start this process sooner. Well the ol' desktop is out of commission for a bit. For the past few months I have been banging my head against the screen as it froze up every few minutes and then crashed, it made for lots of frustrations. I was forced to reformat the hard drive this afternoon! I will be spending the next few days reloading software and getting things back in working order! so... I'll be back...as soon as I get all my computer ducks in a row! Why can't stuff just work??? Blessings R

I will be out of pocket for a bit YIKES, THIS WILL REQUIRE LOTS OF DEEP BREATHING . My laptop will be getting a much needed upgrade in hardware, and can I say that I am very excited about this. The old laptop memory was taxed to the limit and has been gasping for breath trying to keep up. After my shinny new hard drive is installed I will have to reload software and all the various drivers bla bla bla bla… So in the words of the Terminator “I’ll be back!” to blogging and popping over to all my fav blogs when I’m done. Some blogs have them some don’t. I’ve been think about this for some time. Not that it’s of any monumental importance but I just want one. The problem is I can’t seem to make a decision about what it should be. Anybody else having problems with Blogger? I have had my blog setting set up to receive an email when someone leaves a comment on my post’s (well since forever) however I have noticed over the last few days I have stopped receiving email notifications of comments. If I have not responded to one of your comments or you feel just plan ignored please forgive me. I have checked all my setting and it is all the same but still no email notification of comments. Is this happening to anyone else????? Very frustrated! Robin

How much time do you spend blogging? How many blog’s do you follow? Do you read every blog you follow every day? Do you use your Google reader or Blogroll to follow a blog? I just counted. The number of blog’s in my blog roll is 66 the number of blog’s in my Google reader is 26. All of the blog’s in my Google reader are in my blogroll. If I unfollow someone's blog from Google reader but still keep them in my blogroll is that rude? You know us southern girls, it’s all about  being polite! With 66 blog in my blog roll I just can’t get to every one every day. I give my blog roll a once over in the morning and pick the post titles that jump out at me. If I have a boat load of time on my hands and have nothing else pressing I will from time to time try to make it down the entire list but that hardly ever happens. Do y’all use your Google reader, because I just don’t. I find it so much easier to put a new blog I find in my blog roll and then track that blog from there. How ...

I got an email from on of my wonderful blogging pals telling me that one of my posts was gone. I thought surely that can’t be. Did it fall into a black hole?? Did a mysterious serial blogger hack into my system and hit the delete button… Well I figured out what happen!!! In the past weeks I have been working with Windows Live Writer. I am still pleased with the over all ease of this program but there are a few small issues that I will put out there. It does not have a “save as” function, at least not that I have found. With that said I will lament about loosing an entire post, Finally Finished, about a recently finished Prayer Shawl. When I pulled out this previously published post and tried to use part of that post for a new post. I thought I could just alter the title and then change the text and save it as a new post. But no…so I lost an entire post. I love the editing features available for adding pictures, but you can only edit one picture at a time. You have t...

Well I’m just doing my part to pass on the love in the blogosphere!!!! Well after several days of exploring the various features of Windows Live Writer I have decided that I really love it. It has all the same editing tools as Microsoft WORD, you can change font size , typeface, change colors of the text, strike through, insert a link to a post and do all the other things that Blogger allows you to do only much easier. Spell checker is great, it allows you to add words to the dictionary, unlike blogger. It will remember inserted link, if you have a blogger pal that you link over to quite frequently, really cool function as you don't have to continually cut and past the links.   You can preview your post and it really looks like your post as it will appear in your blog.   You can add multiple pictures (more than 5 at a time like blogger or Picasa)      Or add an entire album View Full Album You can crop, add a watermark ...

One minute things are going along like a fine summer day, the skies are blue, the sun is shinning and my cucumbers are coming up gang busters. Each day I wake with anticipating of the lazy nothingness that comes along with the unplanned randomness of a hot summer afternoon. I check the listing for the dollar theater, make sure I have plenty of ice coffee on hand and breath. I pick cucumbers, walk the dog and read a blog or two. I love summer! Sometimes in all the wonderful lazy randomness, life erupts! BANG! The door to hell opens wide and swallows up your life, well maybe the door to hell is to strong a description, maybe it should be more like the door to Jerry Springer's green room on “Who’s your Baby Daddy” day. Now that I am recovered from my travels and have finish the series that wouldn't end I move on. I know y'all are breathing a sigh of relief. Well, I see many of you are doing an end of the year retrospective so I thought I would toss mine on the heap as well.  In thinking about the past year of my life I have to share that there have been many new things, many (many, many, many) difficult things, many painful things, lots of laughter and nearly as many tears to accompany the laughs.  I began this blogging journey on February 14 (ya know it did not even conncet with me that I started this love affair with blogging on Valentines Day, kind of cool I think) but 126 post later I have found this blogging experience to be one of the most rewarding avenues I have journeyed down this year.  Over this past 365 days I have encountered so many amazing faith filled bloggers. As I have read your post and you have read mine we have opened our lives and our heart up to each other.
