Wednesday Hodgepodge

1. What are your plans for Easter Day/weekend?

First we will go to church. He is Risen…Praise the Lord Y’all!!!!!

We have not discussed our plans for Easter. We usually reserve Sunday’s for resting and relaxing, observing the Sabbath rest is so very important. Now that there are no little ones in my home any more the days Easter Egg hunts are no more. However the Easter Bunny will probably make a stop at our house with a basket for Muffinhead.

2. Besides Jesus, what one person from The Bible would you most like to meet and why?

That’s a tough question. To start with maybe Paul, but then who wouldn't want to have a conversation with Peter or John or Matthew. However wouldn't you like to get Sarai perspective? What was she thinking when Abram came and told her to pack up everything and move from their home? Lastly, what mothers heart is not broken when we think about Mary? As a mother….I want to have a conversation with this precious woman.

3. What is one modern day convenience you didn't have as a child that was easy to live without?

I could probably live with out my microwave. I only use it every once and a while. Realistically I could probably live with out my cell phone. I think we have gotten into the very bad habit of thinking that we have to be assessable 24/7, which is just not true. In the stage of my life where I am now it is become an ever more increasing instance where I find myself having just left the house and my phone is still sitting where ever I left it back at the house. What I realize is that there are very few times in life when access to me is critical to life and death issues. It will be OK if I am unreachable for the hour it take me to get in and out of the store or what ever I am doing.

4. Are you more right brained or left brained? If you don't know what that means there is an interesting little quiz here.

I would say right brain, however when I took the quiz it was nearly an even split right down the middle, so I’m not sure what that means.

5. What is something you intended to do today but didn't? Why?

Go to the post office…..I have a package to drop off that is to big to fit in the mail box. With gas prices begin what they are my days of making singular trip out and about are no more. If I don’t have to leave the hose for something then I don’t. When I do have to make a trip out I always try to consolidate my trips and hit as many stops all in one trip!

6. Cadbury Creme Eggs or Reese's peanut butter?

Peanut Butter Cups

7. Who was your favorite cartoon character when you were a child?

Foghorn Leghorn…….get outta here boy…ya bother me……..

8. Insert your own random thought here.

Yes or no?

I am listening to the new (Tuesday on GMA) and there is a piece about this dog grooming contest. It is primarily poodles, the contest is about making the dog into some other design. They use colored hair spray and various other products. The all say that the products are completely safe and that there is no harm to the animals.

All I can say is “Bless their little doggie heart’s!” I think Buster would pop a vein if he had to endure this kinds of treatment. Skoots1mom got him a sweater one year for Christmas and we put it on him and his goal in life for the next few minutes was to try to chew it off, so dressing him up or decorating him I think would be a massive failure. Not to mention the indignity of the whole thing. But then a dog is a dog, but there are moments when I get this amazing sense of understanding in Buster’s eyes. His companionship, his joyful exuberances, his ability to sleep almost all day long, the fact that no matter what, he is always so happy to see me when I walk through the door, well I think that kind of loyalty and love deserves respect.

So no spray pained dog for me!

Well I don’t do Wednesday Hodgepodge very often but it was a good distraction but now I have to go finish up my bible study for tomorrow. Bad from for the facilitator to show up unprepared don’tcha think????????

Blessings

I'm just not a big fan of the colored dogs. I am a fan of dogs, just not the painted variety : )

I almost picked Paul and of course Mary too. I did a study on Daniel and my new favorite word after that study was resolve. I admire his resolve. And I think I'm a little bit like Peter...full of passion but sometimes weak when it counts. He seems very human to me.

Happy Easter!

I'm 62% left brained - no surprise here :) I think I might have to do a post about that.

Wow, the Bible question is hard! I think I'd want to meet Mary Magdelene because there are so many questions about her role in early Christianity.

Well, I think dog painting is just, well, wrong. So I say no. I'm not sure those are happy dogs. :) Of course, to each his own, and maybe those dogs actually like getting all dressed up. We have farm dogs. They would not be amused.
Have a blessed Easter!

I've see these photos of dog grooming and I have to wonder, what would the dogs say about it if they could? I can't imagine that they like it.
Yeah - there's just something wrong with paint dogs up to looks like clowns. They deserve better than that.
Hard to imagine those dogs liking the painting!

I'm like you ... too hard to choose who from the Bible to spend time with. I chose Paul, but I could have easily chosen Mary, Peter, and Mary (of Mary & Martha).

I could probably live without my cell phone (except when we're traveling) ... but since we eliminated the land line, I'll keep my cell phone (even so, I rarely ever get a phone call ... if I do, it's either DD or DH).

Have a blessed Easter.
