Project 365 VS Computer Woe’s, Choir Practice and Arm Wrestling the DD and the Hubs for PC Time

As I type it is approximately 8:30 pm. I attempted to get my 365 post done earlier this afternoon but the computer demons had inhabited my computer and it simply froze up at every key stroke.

Then I had to drive the DD to Choir practice. I have been over the course of the last few years been gently suggesting the she join the youth choir so I thought that complaining now that she actually has joined was not the right thing to do.

Then we get home and I had to wait my turn while said daughter checked her email for church announcements regarding her newly joined choir.

Then I had to wait still further while the hubs checked his email.

Y’all I MISS MY LAPTOP!

So without further whining I move on to my 365 such as it is.

Not my best attempt at capturing an image a day. I missed three days without so much as a snapshot. :(

Tuesday, August 24

Just down from my house there is some property, it is fenced off from the road and there is a dilapidated barn, it is dilapidated in a charming weathered sort of way, not a wow they need to tear that barn down way. From time to time I will spy the odd horse grazing off in the distance. I am not sure who lives on this property but I suspect that if I were to proceed down the gravel drive I might find a small little farm house.

The other day in the corner of this lot I drove by and there were at least 6 or more of these wonderful goats. They had congregated out by the fence and were craning their necks through the fencing to reach the foliage just beyond their reach.

The next day I took my camera with me and pulled over on the side of the road to snap of a few pictures of these sweet little barn yard animal.

I have to tell y’all it is the highlight of my day to drive down the road and get a glimpse of this goat family having a meeting on the side of the road.

One of the reason for my lack of photographs is this.

When we were on vacation this past summer the DD had picked up a copy of this book to read while we were gone. I have to share that I am not a huge Nicholas Sparks fan. I have not read many of his book but the few I have read seem to focus on very tragic ends or love and love lost kind of thing. I spent the whole of our vacation teasing the DD about the fact that if she was reading a Nicholas Sparks book then she could count on one thing.

Spoiler Alert, if you have not read this book and you want to you may want to skip over this next part.

I do not want to ruin it for you!

NICHOLAS SPARKS  = SOMEONE WAS GONNA DIE!

Well having finished the last two books Dangerous Heart and The Carousel Painter, both of which I won over at Mocha with Linda. I just love her and all the book she recommends. I needed something else to read!

But I digress.

I was bound and determined to proved my point!

Well I hate to toot my own horn but within a few pages of starting this book I could see the eventual outcome just staring me straight in the face.

Divorce, teenage love, teenage rebellion, someone gets set on fire, and yes there is a major character that dies.

Well to say that I enjoyed myself as I gloated to the DD over supper that evening is the understatement of the year!!!!!

I had in fact been completely accurate in my prediction that if it was a Nicholas Sparks novel then…..SOMEONE IS GONNA DIE!

Wednesday, August 25

Wednesday began with my Disciple Bible Study and Skoots1mom is also facilitating a class on Wednesday mornings so we have fallen back into our lunch habit after class.

We tried a new Mexican place just in town. It was very good and very authentic Mexican cuisine.

After a wonderful lunch with Skoots I was doubly blessed to have my son and his family for dinner at church. I enjoyed my meal sitting next to my little muffin head!

Look at her little pigtails y’all!

They kinda remind me of this…..

Cindy Lou Who, who is no more than 2, hates the Grinch

Thursday, August 26

I was on a roll as blessing go.

I got to spend the entire morning with Muffin Head on Thursday.

She has learned how to push the button on my camera that take the pictures. I have about a dozen or so pictures of her elbow, her chin, the top of her head.

She is a budding photographer, well maybe not, but she had fun anyway!

That was great for being late and fewer photos (really?)
Love the goat pic!
And the Robin/Skoots friendship :)
Muffin Head is a sweetie!
The pancakes are so tempting!
About Nicholas Sparks:I listened to Dear John, enjoyed it, could relate to some parts, then heard about the movie and as it was described, I kept getting upset at how changed I thought it was. Then I watched it on the plane and thought it was well done. Books and movies just have to be kept in separate categories.
The one NS book I highly recommend is Three Weeks With My Brother, co-authored with Micah, their life story in a travelogue format. Not predictable and true.

Yeah, I try to avoid Nicholas Sparks too - he's a good writer, but I just don't want to feel wrung out after every book I read. Give me a good Stephanie Plum any day!

Those pigtails are SO CUTE! She does look like Cindy Loo Who.

Well, now I might have to have banana pancakes my own self. Does DD take orders?

I skipped the Nicholas Sparks part. I have read many of his books and I agree with the tragedy of most of them, I still like them. After I read Message in a Bottle I cried for almost 3 hours. Crazy!!
Those banana pancakes look awesome!
Muffin Head is becoming quite the photographer. I love seeing what my kids capture when they have the camera. Every once in a while I am very pleasantly surprised!
Have a super week!

In a couple years, Muffinhead will be running circles around you with that camera. LOL It amazes me how quickly little ones pick up on how to operate technical things, like computers, cell phones and camera.

I'm gonna have to make some pancakes this week now :)
