Project 365 ~ Week 21
OK, I did a bit better this week. I only missed one day this week.
I will just dive right in!
Sunday, May 16
Sunday was our annual Senior Recognition Dinner at church. It is always a big deal. The Juniors get to make all the plans and decorate. This years theme was kind of a beach/survivor theme. This was the first year to have senior dinner in the new youth space down in the warehouse.
The Juniors did a wonderful job with all the decorations and the seniors all had a fabulous time.
At the end of the evening all the parents and family gather around all the graduating seniors and place hands on them and send them off into the world protected by a massive circle of love and prayers.
It was awesome to witness!
I don't have a senior this year, four more years for me and then I’ll have an empty nest. I took almost 150 images at the celebration. If you look closely in the above picture you can see skoots1mom in the center at the back laying her hands on her sweet honor role graduate.

There is a story behind this slightly pathetic little blossom. Two springs ago I bought a packet of Purple Cone Flower seeds. I planted them in a container on my patio. I diligently watered them for about four or five weeks. I then forgot all about them and they eventually died. I just left the planter box sitting on the patio all winter long and never gave it another thought. The next spring low and beholds there was one lone hold out that survived the winter. It came up and bushed out but never bloomed. I was not even sure it was in fact a purple cone flower since it never bloomed. When I began my landscape in the backyard I dug this mystery clump out of the planter box and split it in two as it was a rather large clump and planted it in my yard.
I just love how resilient God’s creation is. It weathered the winter and is now coming up gang busters in both locations in my landscape. Hopefully as the plant gets established the flowers will be a bit more attractive.
Even in it’s pitiful state it served as a nice little perch for this bright ray of feathered sunshine. He plopped down and took a few pecks at the flower, paused for a rest and then took off to parts unknown. By the time I got my camera attached to my tripod to try and get a better picture he had flown the coup.
I hope “Mr. Yellow” comes back he was gorgeous!

This came a few days ago. If y’all have never visited Robynn over at Robynn’s Ravings then you must go over and give her a visit! She is a hoot!
Any way I won a giveaway over at her blog and I am looking forward for the dust to settle so I can give this DVD a watch!
Yea!!!! For!!!! Me!!!!!

Thursday, May 20
My cherry tomatoes are beginning!
The corn is probably 12 to 18 inches high!
Friday, May 21
Friday was a flurry of activity. Skoots1mom marinated, chopped and arranged, I peeled, chopped, piped and arranged. We were busy with all the pre-open house details.
Celery Stick with Lobster Mousse, if ya have to eat celery stick then this is the way to do it!
Saturday, May 22
Party day at skoots1mom’s. Y’all keep an eye on her blog as I am sure she will have more pictures about the party. It really is her “Ho Ha” to tell about.
Red Velvet Cake Pop’s dipped in White Chocolate! They were the hit of the party!
Lastly, this picture was taken 28 years ago. Happy anniversary to me and my husband. We did not get to celebrate together, I think in all the 28 years of marriage this is the very first time we have been apart on our anniversary. He has been out of town on an extended business trip from nearly a month now. I am looking forward to his coming home.
Well that’s it for my 365 this week. For more head over to Sara’s!
Blessing and happy picture taking!

That's a big church. Lots of seniors. Great traditions.
Great food, Skoots!
My BD cake was a red velvet. I didn't remember how delicious that kind is. Maybe it's my favorite now.
Happy Anniversary! I missed one with my hubby (can't even remember which one) when he was out of the country. We hardly ever manage to celebrate right on the day anyway. Have a great time when you do get to celebrate!
