Wednesday Hodgepodge

So I am completely being a slacker today and just piddling away the day sitting in my recliner and bouncing around the internet. In an effort to continue my diligence to avoid anything strenuous or domestically productive (i.e. the piles of laundry and full dishwasher) I am joining in on Wednesday Hodgepodge.

1. I'm joining my daughter1 in the 101 in 1001 challenge. Essentially you create a list of 101 things you want to accomplish or do in the next 1001 days. What's one thing you'd put on your list?

Actually, I am GOING to have the Yard Sale. I have been thinking about it for a while and I missed my spring window so I am planning it for early October. My dinning room is overflowing with ‘STUFF”!

2. How many remote controls do you have in your house? What's one item in your home you wish could be run by remote control?

There are seven (ceiling fan, television, cable, DVR, 2 Wii remotes and one for the stereo)  sitting with in an arms reach of my right now. If I could have a remote control for the teenage daughter that would be a wonderful thing. The mind reels with the possibilities…..How about a mute button for eye rolling, a channel block for “Whatever…..”

3. What does having it all mean to you? Is it attainable?

I guess that is a subjective question. I am not sure I want it all, I don’t have the storage space!

For me having it all would look like peace, tranquility and simplicity. It would be a happy and conflict free place. My House would be in order, my pantry would be full, the bills would be paid, my garden would be in bloom, and there would be a fresh loaf of bread cooling on the counter and friends would be invited for dinner. There might be a cocktail involved as well!

Is it attainable?

Well right now, my laundry needs to be done, the bills need to be paid and I need to go to the grocery store, my garden is about to burst into flames and we are probably going to Chick-fil-A for dinner so having it all will have to wait until tomorrow!

4. What's your favorite movie soundtrack?

Guys and Dolls, Oklahoma, Little Shop of Horrors, Grease,South Pacific or West Side Story, just to name a few!

5. Describe the best view you've seen from a rooftop?

A few weeks ago we went to  birthday party for a friend. The party was at her daughters apartment. It was held on her rooftop. There was an absolutely stunning view of downtown Atlanta's. As the sun went down I had a standing view off the sun setting behind the sky scrapers. It was an perfect night, the sun was setting, there was a light cool breeze and the night just came in as the color of the sky shifted from an orange peachy blush into a wonderful cool summer night. It was a GREAT view.

6. What's your least favorite thing about summer?

The extreme heat! My container gardens on my back patio look like they have been on vacation on the surface of the sun. The are brown, withered and dried to a brittle crisp!

7. Our weekly Hodgepodge lands on the first day of August. In ten words or less sum up your July.

Fireworks, extreme heat, campmeeting, awesome worship, fellowship, homegrown tomatoes, and school supplies,

8. Insert your own random thought here.

I love summer, however I am so looking forward to school getting back in session. The best thing I can say about seventeen is that it is almost half over. I am wondering what happen to my girlchild? Just breathing through this transition and looking forward to the daily activity of the school year. I want my morning back and the girlchild out from under foot! Love that child but I am so ready for school to start BACK!

Well that’s it for my Hodgepodge!

I might even go empty the dishwasher now…well maybe not!

I know what you mean about a lazy day. I truly believe it is this heat. It is showing 100 degrees here. I am ready for cooler weather where I feel like doing something. Enjoyed your answers.
until next time... nel

Funny--the dishwasher always seems to need unloading, huh??

It's nice to see you in the HP today! I have always wanted an apt with a city view. Not sure I'd like it year round so I also need a country house : )
