Project 365 ~ Week 31
I can defiantly tell that summer is winding down, the lazy days are getting few and far between and the activity of the school year and the coming fall season are slowly creeping in.
Monday, July 30
Muffinhead was with me a few days while Mommy was getting back to work at the school. She got a real treat and some much needed one on one time with the Auntie Girlchild.
Tuesday, July 31
Make Up and Muffinhead are two words that seem to go hand in hand these days. She has fun watching Auntie go from just plain beautiful to gorgeous. They did their nails and both had mini make over's.
Wednesday, August 1
This colorful guy fluttered around my flowers (the ones that are still hanging on that is…) long enough for me to get a few pictures.
Wednesday evening the family went over to the local Chick-Fil-A to support our freedom of speech as well as enjoy a good meal.
Thursday, August 2
Thursday evening I departed from my usual lime slushy and got a cream slushy at sonic. An orange one!
Y’all, I don’t know when I have enjoye something more. It was exactly the right thing at just the right moment. It was that taste of the cream sickles I used to enjoy as a little girl. It was a sweet sip of heaven at the end of a long day!
Friday, August 3
I spent the morning over at my friends studio. Thankfully it is just a few minute away from my house so I am taking advantage of her kind offer to let me explore working with the clay. I think I may be on to something, I can’t seem to stop thinking of what I want to make next and what I did wrong when a pot fails and crumples in a heap of wet clay.
This piece is finished and waiting to dry completely so it can go in the kiln for the first firing.
This is my second, I am just getting used to how the process goes. I have done some other shapes but I did not take a picture of them. Cameras and goopy clay covered hands don't work well together and then by the time I get my hands all cleaned up I am on to something else's and forget to take pictures….
The tomatoes in the garden are about to play out, but there are still a few left on the vine!
Saturday, August 4
I went back over for a few hours on Saturday morning and worked on a few piecework formed platters, they are done with a flat piece of clay and then pressed and worked on to a form and then allowed to dry.
I made some matching napkin rings with the leftover trimmed off pieces. Waste not want not….
Well that’s it for me week.
I hope everyone is enjoying their last few days of summer. We were up to our ears in school supplies yesterday and the fist day of school in tomorrow.
Can y’all say YEA!
For more P365 y’all head over to Sara’s and link up!
See ya next week!
