Muffinhead loves to brush Grandma’s hair. Confession: Grandma love to have her hair brushed. I will submit to those sweet little hands any time she likes! Why is is that when you brush your own hair it is just a task but when someone else brushes it if feels so wonderful????

Muffinhead was my little kitchen helper and unloaded the silverware from the dishwasher. She has her own unique take on how to organize the silverware drawer.

At Last! My first pottery pieced glazed and out of the kiln! I was very happy with how they turned out.

Here is a better representation of the size of the bowls. They are very small really, note the Willow Tree Angle and wine cork to help you gauge how small these first bowl really are. I am finding that the longer I work with the clay the more at ease I am with getting things bigger as well as learning how to do other shapes.

What is the significance of this water bottle and why did I take a picture of it? I am glad you asked.
The members of the Prayer Shawl Ministry are having to circle around one of our own. It is never easy to loose a loved one and even more difficult when that loved one is a child. One of our members lost there 23 year old daughter in a very tragic accident. Every mother will understand the heartbreak as you shake your head and wonder how a mother faces this unimaginable situation.
Saturday morning I was finishing up my morning coffee, about to get ready to step in the shower to get ready to go to the funeral.
The Hubs and I had discussed the evening before what our weekend plans were, he KNEW I was planning to attend the funeral IN THE MORNING, and I knew that he had several household chores he was planning to get done in the morning as well. Well his household chose was to fix the leaky shower head in our master bathroom. I knew our shower head was in pieces so I gathered up my “stuff” and headed to the hall bathroom only to find out that he had turned the water off so he could fix the show head.
There I was standing in the hall way with my shower cap and towel looking at my husband wondering how I was going to get myself presentable with no water. Needless to say I was praising Jesus for the wet washrag that was laying over the towel rod in the bathroom as well as this half empty water bottle with which I used to do a small sponge bath and wash my face as well as brush my teeth!
All the while I was greatly remained that my insignificant inconvenience of no water was simply a non issue compared to what was going on with my dear friend and her family. I can handle a sponge bath and face it with no complaints when compared with the reality that they will face the rest of there lives on this earth missing there precious daughter.

Thankfully by the time Skoots1mom and I got back from the funeral the water was back on.

My heart grieves for my friend and her whole family. Please be in prayer for her and her family. Also be in prayer for our youth as the young woman was friends with some of our older collage age students and the youngest boy was an active member in our youth group as well, He just graduate high school last year. I know this will be a difficult time for both the parents as well as the remaining siblings.

Well that was my week!
I hope you all are getting back into the swing of thing as our summer is officially winding down!
Fall is just around the corner. I am not sure I should even mention this one but one of my FB buddies mentioned the other day that it was only 130 day until Christmas, that was a few days ago so it even closer now!
We are on the downward side of this year…how did that happen!
Blessings

I am so sorry to hear about the loss your friend has had. I cannot imagine being in that position. Loved the pottery. Blues are my favorite colors. Thanks for the Christmas reminder...did not want to know that. Griefus...now I had to start hustling.

So sorry for your friends' loss - the loss of young life is so tragic.

Love your bowls & that Muffinhead - does she do other people's hair? I could head down for a good head brushing & then eat one of your fabulous meals :)

I'm actually glad you mentioned Christmas - I was planning on giving everyone dish cloths for Christmas & I've hardly touched my crochet hook this summer. Better get on the ball!

Your friend's pain is unimaginable. I pray she feels carried by God's loving grace through this time and the many days ahead.
