Project 365 ~ Week 44: A bit under the weather and some Fall Color

My week started with a trip to the drug store. It really started on the Friday before when I began to feel no so hot. By Sunday I was not a happy camper. My head felt like it was full of cotton and generally all I wanted to do was sit cuddled up under a blanket.

I’m a confirmed Alka Seltzer Plus advocate. For me it just works better than anything else I have tried. I also love the Halls cherry lozenges. They are packed with vitamin C, Zinc and Echinacea. Plus they are very tasty and help with your sore throat!

I was feeling a bit better by Tuesday, enough to give my orange marmalade a taste. I was so pleased with the results. Click here for the recipe if you are so inclined.

Not much photo worthy happened or maybe I was just milking the cold. I did take advantage of the situation to get a bit of rest.

Friday, October 28

I have a tiny bit of fall happening in the back yard. There is not much of a fall showing but the Crepe Myrtles add a nice little pop of color.

Saturday morning turned out to be absolutely glorious. I was feeling much better so the whole family packed into the car and we made a day trip up to the north Georgia mountains to enjoy some of the fall color.

It was a beautiful cool cloudless day and the fall foliage was stunning. God did some great work across the North Georgia Mountains.

We returned home with a few bags of apples, some sorghum syrup and some peanut brittle. I think there may be a pie or two and maybe some home made apple sauce in the very near future.

Well that’s it for my week. I hope you all are enjoying all the fall color and taking advantage of the change in season.

Love the mountain pics! And I'm glad you felt well enough to go.

I don't like marmalade, but that looks so yummy I might try it anyway :)

your pictures are beautiful!! take care of yourself-- it's too early in the season to be getting sick already! ;-)

I've never even tried Alka Seltzer for a cold. I may have to remember that when the time comes... which i'm sure is soon.

Nothing more beautiful then fall trees!

Glad you're feeling better.

The fall colors are lovely! Wow--your pictures are always so vivid. I am searching for McIntosh apples here and can't find any to make applesauce.

Beautiful post.
Saw the following on a plaque recently:

Delicious AUTUMN!

My very soul is wedded to it.
And if I were a bird I would
fly about the earth
seeking successive Autumns.

I really love the N. Georgia pictures. I do miss not living in Marietta anymore.
Beautiful fall in Georgia!! It's funny, as much as I adore the colors on the trees, it's always the amazing blue sky that just blows me away.

I've had a cold, too. I almost NEVER get sick anymore. But I guess FOUR kids blowing their snot everywhere for a week proved to be too much for even MY immune system. ;)
