Eating Chocolate Cheerios and waiting for it to warm up so I can take the dog for a walk…

Yes I had a coupon for the chocolate cheerios and as chocolate cereal goes it is not to bad.

It is a bit chilly out this morning the temp registering at about 27 degrees and the DD did not have time to walk the dog this morning. Now under normal circumstance dog walking is strictly her job but being the wonderful mother earth that I am (NOT) I gave her a pass this morning.

She had a big Orchestra concert last night. Whoo to the Hoo, they got a superior rating. I did not get to attend the concert but the hubs said they sounded very good.  She did not get home until almost 9:30 and was so exhausted she went strenth to be and made the decision to do her home work in the morning.

Why didn't I get to go? I am glad you asked!

For reason that I am sure made perfect sense to someone they decide to schedule the Large Group Performance Evaluation on the very same day as 9th Grade Parent Orientation at the High School.

That’s right next year will be my precious eye rolling little angel first year of High School. All kidding aside I am so very proud of her, given the difficulties of her last year recovering from her back surgery she has bounced back tremendously. She was even recommend for a few accelerated and honors classes.

But I digress, having to park about three blocks away from the high school and hoofing it in the freezing cold to get to the meeting on time I finally found the auditorium. I immediately notice that a majority of the parents all have a small bound booklet in hand. I spot a familiar face in the crowd and inquire “Where do I get my book?” the familiar face responds “Well DD should have brought it home from school this afternoon!”

Well since my precious eye rolling little angel did not come home from school because of the orchestra concert. They all left for at 4:30 from the school so I found myself wandering around the common area trying to use my psychic abilities for which class information to pick up! It was so fun y’all!

I retuned home with a small handful of brochures and as the old saying goes “Even a blind squirrel will occasionally find a nut” I did manage to pick up a few of the appropriate brochures.

It’s almost warm enough but I will procrastinate a bit longer.

Here is a total unrelated question for you.

When is a bargain not a bargain?

I am working to try to slim down our grocery budget a bit. I had a coupon for toilet paper and I came home from the grocery store with a different brand then I normally purchase. Big mistake! Thankfully I only have 4 rolls left and then it’s back to the Charmin for me!

And another totally unrelated subject change.

Ya know what bugs me. Movie titles that don’t have anything to do with the movie. I watched a movie called the “Painted Veil” I am a big Edward Norton fan and since the addition of my DVR I have been taking full advantage of it’s capabilities. Anywhoo…unless I totally missed it I watched the entire move (which was a bit so so’ish) and as the credits were rolling I sat there thinking “Exactly just what did a “Painted Veil” have to do with anything related to this movie???

I’m just saying…

Still to cold to go outside…

So on to another totally unrelated subject change…

I informed my husband and DD the other night at dinner that as of this week I am going to be placing at least one if not two suppers on the table each week sans meat. For budgetary reason as well as health reason the elimination of meat will do the grocery budget and our inner working a world of good. There is a penne pasta with sun dried tomatoes and mushrooms on deck for dinner tonight. I even took a leap of faith and bought oyster mushrooms and shitake mushrooms while I was exploring the enormously varied and huge selection of produce at the H Mart.

If y’all have any really good vegetarian recipes I would live to see you post them.

Almost warm enough and I just took my last sip of coffee and it has now gone cold so it’s time to wrap this up and get the dog out for his walk.

Mother earth signing off for now.

Y’all take care.

Blessings

Love those chocolate Cheerios, but they can't be that good for you can they? I guess there's not much that I eat that's good for me. The other day my doctor gave me a list of foods that I should avoid-- it was everything I eat. Thanks Doc!
I really like Edward Norton, but haven't seen THE PAINTED VEIL -- haven't really been interested from watching the previews.
I used to do coupons all the time, but they're not as good as they used to be and the place where I usually shop stopped doubling them. Over all things are more expensive now.
Enjoyed your little ramble.

My oldest daughter told me this morning that my grandaughter loves chocolate cheerios. That she don't really care for the plain ones. I told her I guess not they taste like cardboard. lol Have a blessed weekend.

Some of these changes are going on in my household too- sucking up the budget a little bit, so giving up a few things there. I find Charmin to be the t.p. that leaves fuzz on your rump, which is weird since the commercial shows a bear w/no fuzz on her rump when she uses that brand. Hmm. Butt, (heehee) I can't use anything but Northern brand here. 2-ply Northern or bust. No fuzzbutt.

As for waiting til it warms up to walk the dog- I'm afraid a dog here would never walk- it is coooold outside and blizzardy and blah! Good thing we have a fish.

Chocolate cheerios sound good right about now.

It's too funny that with one child you have conflicting activities! LOL Although I'm sure it wasn't funny to you at the time.

I was a Charmin fanatic, too. I miss my Charmin. Say hello to it for me. I now use a Scott product. It is okay. It is not Charmin. It is still better than the t.p. we had to use in Africa. :-)
