Project 365 ~ Week 22

Image
Apologies for being so late in posting this today, but y’all I just had the very best nap in the history of Sunday afternoon naps. It was great! Now that I have shaken off the fog of a deep and restful sleep I’m ready to get at my week in pictures. Sunday, May 23 I woke up early Sunday morning to this.  A thick blanket of fog!   Monday, May 24 My Veggie Patch is full of  Zucchini Squash Blossom’s Tuesday, May 25 Happy Tootsies! Wednesday, May 26 My Girl Child is a happy camper. The Last Day of Middle School!   Dinner at our favorite restaurant to celebrate! I had my usual Veggie Plate, Creamy Mashed Potatoes, Stewed Tomatoes, Green Beans with a small side salad and a piece of Corn Bread. It did not disappoint! I love these rockers out front!   Thursday, May 27 My husband was returning from a month long business trip so I was in cleaning mode all day Thursday. I swept, mopped, dusted, vacuumed, cleaned the bathrooms, cleaned the kitchen and we

90 Minutes of PURE BLISS and Sometime You Have To Wonder What God Was Thinking?

Image
Seriously what up with feet. I have to wonder what God was thinking when he designed the human foot. They just look weird, or at least mine do. My toes look like little stubby wrinkled protrusions jutting off my feet.  All parts serve a valuable purpose, however for as odd looking as they are at times these pink wrinkled protrusions were the recipient of 90 minutes of pure bliss! Are you happy with your feet? I was sure happy for my feet and the whole rest of my body for that fact. Before   After! Y’all I had a huge treat the other day! Skoots1mom took me to have a pedicure! We had both been working out hinnies off getting ready for her DD Graduation Open House, which was a HUGE success BTW! So she rewarded us both with a few minutes of pure heaven. We stopped a got a large cup of coffee and then headed over to the nail salon. We walked in and God was good to us and we had the whole place to ourselves. I am thinking of having one of these installed in my s

Well here goes it for this week! 1. Would you rather host party or simply attend a party? Probably attend, however hosting would not be an issue either. Y’all know me, move out of my way and hand me an apron and I’m good to go! It’s all about the pre prep work and having a plan! 2. Tell us about the most memorable party you've been to. From time to time my accountability sisters and I will have the occasional gathering. We have a new years day brunch every year, sometimes we will get together for various other holidays or for a birthday and sometimes we will just get together for nor reason at all. We all bring something and just enjoy each others company. We will laugh, eat, fellowship, maybe play a game of Wii, or a board game, card game etc. It doesn't have to be fancy or elaborate it just has to be time spent together! As we are closing out these evenings we linger and find it difficult to part from one another because we don't want the evening to end.

I think I’m LOST??? I’m not sure what I was expecting….and my Weekend Review

As weekends go this one was very busy. Friday was party prep at skoots1mom ’s house. Saturday was party day and my anniversary, such that it was with the hubs out of town! He is returning home on Thursday of this week (hopefully) and you can bet that there is a date night planned in the very near future to celebrate together! Sunday morning I took the stares. Now this may not sound like a big deal to y’all, and in reality just taking the stairs once is not really that big of a deal but it’s a start. A new re-beginning to adding more activity into my day!  Sunday the DD was commissioned at church for her upcoming mission trip to Mexico! Momma is, as always, fighting the Nervous Nellie’s I get before putting my baby on a plane to a different country. God is good and I know He will be with all the members of the team! Sunday the DD had her end of the years party with her girls group! They had a cook out and played games and generally had a great time! This bring me to the l

OK, I did a bit better this week. I only missed one day this week. I will just dive right in! Sunday, May 16 Sunday was our annual Senior Recognition Dinner at church. It is always a big deal. The Juniors get to make all the plans and decorate. This years theme was kind of a beach/survivor theme. This was the first year to have senior dinner in the new youth space down in the warehouse. The Juniors did a wonderful job with all the decorations and the seniors all had a fabulous time. At the end of the evening all the parents and family gather around all the graduating seniors and place hands on them and send them off into the world protected by a massive circle of love and prayers. It was awesome to witness!   I don't have a senior this year, four more years for me and then I’ll have an empty nest. I took almost 150 images at the celebration. If you look closely in the above picture you can see skoots1mom in the center at the back laying her hands on her sweet honor

1. What is one really fast, know-by-heart "go-to" meal to fix in a pinch? I usually have all the ingredients to fix either chili or spaghetti in my pantry at all times. That’s practically a no brainer. Pancakes are another quick fix at my house a little flour, eggs, buttermilk, a pinch of that and a dash of this and you’re done, I can always manage to toss any leftovers in a pot with a few cans of chicken or beef stock and off set with some other pantry ingredient for a big ol pot of soup. Having a well stocked panty is the key! When I am running low on canned good like chicken stock, tomato sauce, tomato paste, chopped tomatoes with green chilies, green chilies, roasted red peppers, beans, rice, pasta, egg noodles, condensed soup it’s time to go the the grocery store. Plus I try to keep on hand onion, celery, carrots and garlic. Another super quick meal is to take pork medallions and season both sides well with salt and pepper. Slice one large onion or two small onio

Y’all for this week I have to give myself a big fat “F” in the picture taking category. I only took pictures four out of the seven days. I have no explanation, the dog did not eat my memory card, I was not abducted by aliens, it just didn’t happen. So such as it is I move on… Sunday, May 09 One of my dearest friends was out of town on vacation last week. When these occasions arise my DD is hired to water the plants and feed the cat. We headed out there on Sunday afternoon to give the animal and the plants a nice drink. While the DD tended to the animal and the plants I had to snap off a few pictures. I think if I could pick any setting to live in it would be this friends home. It is a small log cabin set back off the road. When the trees are fully leafed out you can not even see the house from the road. It is one of the most picturesque, serene and peaceful settings I have ever seen. She has by far one of the greatest front porches on the planet. There is a wonderful swing and
