Hey there y’all! Well it was a good week as weeks go. The evil fairies were at bay and the hormonal rollercoaster was on a decline so I am claiming success for at least a little while any way! I actually have some pictures to show y’all this week! So let’s get at it! Sunday, June 12 We sent the girl child off on choir tour today! Bucket List

If you have seen the movie The Bucket List then you know where the idea come from. We have all done it at one point in our lives. We begin to think and dream about all the tings that we have done in our lives and think about all the things that we would hope to do in the future. In my last Wednesday Hodgepodge the first question was: 1. What is one thing on your bucket list? If you don't have a bucket list let's pretend you do. I began to think of all the wonderful places and things I hope to do one day. Experience the Northern Lights Walk on the Great Wall of China Visit the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam Visit the Holy Land Go to Rome, Paris, England, New Zealand, Spain, Australia, Ireland, Easter Island, Bali, Tahiti… Participate in a CIA Boot Camp and Cooking Vacation A fall tour of the east coast and New England Visit the Smithsonian Win the lottery so I can afford to do all these amazing things…. After I hit the post button this question stayed in my head for...

Wednesday Hodgepodge

I am joining Joyce over at This Side of the Pond for Wednesday Hodgepodge today! So let’s get to it! 1. What is one thing on your bucket list? If you don't have a bucket list let's pretend you do. How can I just pick one. I have not sat down and actually made out a Bucket List but if I did there are a lot of things I would put on it. Experience the Northern Lights Walk on the Great Wall of China Visit the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam Visit the Holy Land Go to Rome, Paris, England, New Zealand, Spain, Australia, Ireland, Easter Island, Bali, Tahiti… Participate in a CIA Boot Camp and Cooking Vacation A fall tour of the east coast and New England Visit the Smithsonian Win the lottery so I can afford to do all these amazing things….hmmmm looks to me like I have started my Bucket List…. 2. What makes a good dad? Those of us with father issues know exactly the character traits of a good father. Thankfully my daughter will never have to know a life without her daddy! ...

Pay It Forward

Image
Good Morning to All…. I had a visit from Holly over at A Life Size Catholic Blog the other day. Among the many wonderful things I enjoy about blogging the possibility of meeting new friends and gaining insight to different perspectives is one of my favorite things. She hosts a Meme called Pay it Forward . (you can click on the link for all the instructions)   I thought about what I would share for a few minutes and then it just “hit me” rather like a the comment below! Well today the good and wonderful thing I will share with you is this visual image that just made me laugh out loud. I shared in my last P365 post that I was having an extremely nasty bout with some rather unpleasant hormonal symptoms. It wasn’t and still isn’t very pretty! So given the somewhat altered state of my emotional and hormonal condition, well anything or anyone that brings a smile to my face or even facilitates a good old’ belly laugh gets high marks from me! It still makes me laugh…. The Bug sa...

Project 365 ~ Week 24 or the week in which the hormones got the better of me…..

Image
Once upon a time there lived a woman who loved to participle in Project 365. Each week she would gleefully post all her pictures and have a wonderful time looking at everyone else's’. Weeks and weeks went by and life was good. The good and happy fairies danced and flitted about sprinkling their sparkly happy fairy dust upon everything leaving a lovely a iridescent glow on her life. Then one day a dark and evil cloud lumbered over her sweet fairy dust covered life. How could this be? She sat looking at the computer in utter amazement as it proceeded to download the one and only picture she took all week? Surely this can’t be right, but alas it was true. Could she blame it on the evil fairies, that could be a plausible explanation. However in looking at her hormonally charged week full of up’s and down’s and all manner of emotional upheavals, this was more than likely the culprit. But my money is on the evil fairies… Seriously here is my one and only picture for the entire week. ...

1. Do you and your family enjoy camping? What do you enjoy most/like the least when it comes to family camping? When was the last time you camped? We used to go camping all the time! We still have all the gear stowed away in the attic. Back in the day it was the only vacation that we could afford to do as a family so when vacation time rolled around we packed up the back of the van and headed out. We never went very far, and sometime I would head out on a Thursday evening to get the campsite set up so we could have the whole weekend to just enjoy ourselves. It’s amazing at how efficient I got at putting up a huge tent all by myself, and with a toddler in tow to boot! I had it organized down to the very last detail and with our limited resources I would usually splurge a bit on the food. We usually had more treat’s on our camping trips then we did on a daily basis. I think my least thing about camping is the point A to point B process. Hearing “Is all this crap really necessary!” as w...

A Bucket of Melancholy: The hores are moaning…

Image
It seams I can no longer form a complete thought. For the past few days I will walk over to the computer and open up my profile and click on my lovely live writer icon and then just sit and stare at the blank page. Being determined to post something just so that I can say that I did complete at least one task this week I will attempt to bang out a few thoughts. I am sure I have a thought in my head but right now they revolve around wanting to submerge myself in a chocolate sundae or pomegranate martini while ignoring all the important aspects of my maternal and wifely duties. The DD is getting ready to go on a church choir tour, she leaves on Sunday and she was having a mild panic attack at the concept of not having the proper eye shadow or coordinating headbands to take on the trip. So it was of CRITICAL importance that we go shopping. We did get the eye shadow but alas there were NO CUTE headbands, the choir tour may be in danger of being a major disaster speaking from a strictly f...

Project 365 ~ Week 23

The lazy days of summer…well maybe just the days of summer as we head into a week filled with preparation for Choir tour and a mission trip and all the necessary trips to wherever to get all the stuff the DD needs for her travels. This week however was a very laid back and normal kind of week. Sunday, May 29 I did not take any pictures today but it was my oldest child’s birthday. He celebrated his 22 year today! What momma doesn’t think back to when they were little and remember those first few moments with this new little person. The memories sent me to the photograph album and I had to share a few with y’all! Y’all I just burst into tears when I look at this picture. Me and Grandma and my sweet baby boy. This was the very first time the two of them ever met! My son was 19 days old in this picture. Is there anything more precious than a sleeping baby? or a fresh out of the bath, that clean baby smell…   I think this is one of my favorite picture of my sweet boy. He still...

Maui

Image
Maui by far was the most beautiful and lush of all the islands we visited. Isn’t it always the way of things that hindsight is always 20/20. I wish we had planned for a few more days on Maui. There were many things that we really would have liked to have done but there simply was not time. Plus let me just say that this down home southern girl in her Wal-Mart blue jean shorts and Kohl’s white tee shirt felt a bit out of place surrounded by the five star resort wear that some of the more upper crust clientele at the Grand Wailea had on. Can y’all say “The Land of Rich People!” I expected to see Paris Hilton lounging at the pool. I was told by the hotel desk clerk that she does stay there when she finds herself in Maui. I guess if ma and pa owned a hotel I’d probably want to stay there too! Sadly our paths did not cross nor I did not spot any celebrities sequester in the pool side cabana's. I did see a movie poster set up in the lobby for an upcoming movie with Jennifer Aniston and...

A Luau : Oh Wow!

Image
What Hawaii vacation would be complete with out a Luau? In all the pre vacation research I did, I found that the Grand Wielia hosted a Luau several nights a week so I booked our reservations even before we left! Very convenient! Earlier in the day I had notices that they were setting up for a wedding and as we were walking to the Luau it was in progress. Well you can call me miss nosy puss because I had to snap off a picture. It was a gorgeous night for an out door dinner. The breeze was blowing and the evening was just perfect!  This lovely woman was our host and she lead us through the evening. She was a wonderful hostess and explained all the Hawaiian customs and narrated all of the entertainment.  We got both Hawaiian Tattoo's, temporary and mine came off in the shower before bedtime, the hubs lasted a bit longer. This is the pit for the Kaula Pig. It had been slow cooking since 5:00 AM over a bed of hot coals lines with rock and then wrapped up and covered in...
