Researchers at the southern offices of the Board of Domestic Household Affairs have expressed extreme concern over a blog post that appeared on the world wide web over the weekend. It seems that a rare and unexplained anomaly occurred at one of our satellite offices resulting in the spontaneous and unexplained replication of an ordinary roll of household bathroom tissue. On further investigation it appears that some rare and very explicit photographic evidence of this anomaly has also been established. Researchers are predicting that along with this spontaneous regeneration of bathroom tissue we may also expect anomalies to occur in the form of empty tea pitchers spontaneously refilling themselves after having been put back in the refrigerator empty. Sunday, March 6 Chocolate Mocha Ice Box Cake The DD did a great job making this amazing cake. She ran across this recipe last week while she was exploring the old “Honey Did Ya Write That One Down!” binder. It was super easy, a bit ingredient heavy but not to complicated. I will say that I think the proportions were off a bit. The instructions said that there should have been five layers starting with the cookies and then layer the mocha whipped cream and so on and so forth. I have always found this to be the case that it never quiet work out exactly like the recipe says it will. We only managed to get four layers. This is what it was supposed to look like! This is what the DD’s looked like! It was delicious, but I think next time we may increase the mocha whipped cream and decrees the layer of cookies. Friday was a big Go God day!  Some of you will remember when my DD had major surgery . It was a difficult few weeks and months for us as she recovered but now to look at her you would never know that she has ton’s of hardware down both sides of her spinal column. Anyway over the years I have grown very familiar with the process of paying off medical bills. I was so very thankful that we actually had health insurance when the need for the DD’s surgery became necessary. That has not always been the case. Without going into the long and boring details we were burdened with a very large medical debt many many, many,many years ago for a very long, long, long, long   time and God was faithful and eventually provided a way out for us. I woke up thinking about Aubrey today.   One afternoon I went out in the back yard to check on the both of them and there they sat looking like this! Oh the mind of a child…”Let’s fill our t-shirts up with as much sand as they will hold…that will be so much fun.” The were both having so much fun and laughing, giggling and having the time of there lives. The damage had already been done so I just let them keep going. Afterwards I made them strip off their shirts and gave them a good rinse with the hose! Here they are nice and clean sitting side by side in the same folding chair! When we loose people we care deeply about it seems almost impossible to think that a year has gone by without them being in the world. Logan was born in 1995 and Aubrey was born in 1996 so I am sure that Logan does not have a childhood memory that does not include Aubrey in it. When I read the prompt for this week there was only one thing that flashed in my mind. The memory sent me scurrying for my old year books! Gym Uniforms! Surely there had to be some evidence of our forced group humiliation and sadly there was!   Thankfully I was not captured in this year book picture. However I remember these gym uniforms very well! We had to endure these lovely fashion statements at one of the High Schools I attended. It was horrible, unattractive, hot and sweaty and to top it off it was a wonderfully flattering dirty gold-ish mustard color.   We started the book of James in Sunday school yesterday. One of the things that continually amazes me about God’s word is it’s ability to transform and come alive. No matter how many times you have read a particular passage it is always faithful to meet you in a new and different way. Monday, February 28 For dinner it was Pork Chops lightly floured and fried, stuffing with roasted red peppers,spinach and fennel, spiced cranberry sauce, fresh pineapple and red grapes. I have no frame of reference so I am not sure if the way they taste is how they are supposed to taste or maybe I just got a bad batch. They are very sour! The Cherry Tree in the back yard is in full bloom! I think it subliminal but when I make my afternoon ice coffee in a Starbuck’s cup it tastes a better. I was checking my FB page this morning and I spent a short few minutes watching a video that had been posted by one of my oldest and dearest friends. She has a new grandbaby and they were bringing in the big sister for the big moment of meeting her new little brother. It was such a precious moment watching her little face as she got her first glimpse of her new baby brother. I love the way the mind works. One thing sparks another and then this wonderful memory played before me in my mind. I ran to the shelf with all my photograph albums on it and began pulling them out until I found the exact one I was looking for. I remember watching him walk in the room. We got him settled in the chair and carefully laid his little sister in is arms and he leaned his head in and whispered in her ear “I’m your big brother and I love you!” Blessings R

Y’all remember the best selling book that came out a few years ago. 90 minutes in heaven? As I was pulling out of the Kohl’s parking lot an idea came to me about the sequel. I am thinking of entitling it “90 Minutes in Hell”. That is precisely how long I struggled in and out of about 15 different bathing suits in the Kohl's dressings room. I am thinking of having the main character experience a psychotic break from reality due to the post traumatic stress of the experience not to mention the bad lighting in the dressing rooms and gaudy prints. She slips further into her delusions when faced with the dangling tag which reads “Hip Minimize” only to realize that it is in fact a meaningless sales ploy. While standing at the register she receives the added blow to her psyche as the final total flashed before her eyes! The MC then has her final break from reality and exits the building. We are getting ready for church and I step into the DD bathroom to use her flat iron, hers is of course better than mine. She is helping me with the last few strands in the back to make sure I will not embarrass her to terribly with unfinished hair when her phone vibrates. It’s 7:30 AM, I’m thinking exactly who is she texting with at this hour and on a Sunday morning no doubt. Me being the mom and all I ask “Who was that?” “Oh that was so and so, I asked her if I could borrow a pair of her footie socks, I’m wearing my flats to church.” With a tile of my head I respond “I just bought you a brand new pack of trouser socks!” “Mom! You can’t wear THOSE kind of sock with flats!” I stand corrected, while I am wearing my black trouser socks whilst wearing my flats I might add apparently the whole concept behind wearing skinny straight leg jeans and flats is so that the top of your foot shows…who knew apparently not me. It boggles the mind…..   R

Spring is in the air, I am just praying that we will not have another cold snap and all the new growth that is appearing in my yard will survive this early touch of warm weather.
