Pomegranate Martini

Several of you commented about how refreshing the Pomegranate Martini looked from last weeks P365.

Well here is the recipe if you would like to give this one a go!

1 ½ ounces Citron Vodka

1 ½ ounces Orange Liquor

¾ ounce Pomegranate Liquor

¾ to 1 ½ ounces simple syrup (1 cup granulated sugar & 1 cup water brought to a simmer to dissolve all the sugar then cooled to room temp, store in squeeze bottle in frig, lasts a long time)

3 ounces pomegranate juice (I use Pom Wonderful)

Juice of one lemon or lime (optional)

Run a lemon or lime wedge around the rim of the glass and rim the glass in table sugar for an extra touch of sweetness. The first time I ordered a pomegranate martin at a restaurant it was served with a sugar rimmed glass.

Sometime I make these in a martini shaker with crushed ice and serve in a traditional martini glass that has been chilled in the freezer for at least 30 minutes; however they stay chilled longer if served over crushed ice, which I do more often.

Cheers!
