So glad this shared devotional caused our paths to cross! Like your commenter wrote below..."Jesus bumps!"

I really enjoyed my jaunt through your blog and look forward to reading more and getting to know you better.

I understand your challenge about your son. It definitely is a difficult balance and one that a number of my friends are currently walking.

How awesome about the missions trip! Long after your daughter's primer stains have faded, the impact and memories of this trip will remain. What a blessing.

Happy you had such a nice week to yourself...sounds as it was a great time! (Your comment about egg salad made me laugh out loud.) = )Tracyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02158977330746847962noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7710381019162583843.post-5923629560202282092008-06-06T23:35:00.000-04:002008-06-06T23:35:00.000-04:00ok, DH...when are you gonna start bloggin?ok, DH...
when are you gonna start bloggin?Skoots1moMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15062108140123899280noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7710381019162583843.post-8579327736152437472008-06-06T23:33:00.000-04:002008-06-06T23:33:00.000-04:00Whoa...God's working...I just had been "surfing" a...Whoa...God's working...
I just had been "surfing" and ran across this prayer and felt I needed to share it with you.

Note: I had not already been to your site and read what Sweetpea wrote...

Jesus bumps...Jesus bumps...
Lord, give us the courage to ask for great things. Things far greater than that which we can ask or imagine. Things you long to give to us. May our faith in your power be one of complete and confident assurance, like that of Elijah and so many other heroes of our faith. May patient perseverance reside within us as we await the workings of Your Will. In the meantime, may we continue on, humbly doing the work which You presently have set before us. May we not become so focused on the great things that we miss the blessings that will come in moments along the way. Open our eyes and hearts to each and every one. We love and fully trust in Your plan for our lives. In the precious name of Jesus, Amen.

(guess whose site this is from? "My Cup Runneth Over" that Sweetpea mentioned.)

blessings in the moments, the smaller things. A friend told me about it a couple months ago. She said she only reads the Bible and this devotional. I thought about getting it but thought I don't think I can do one more book or study at once. However, I will be buying this. I plan to use to to better enhance my quiet time and to motivate me to get up earlier to do my devotional in the morning. I have trouble sleeping but I need to dunker down and force myself even if it's only 10 minutes earlier to start.
Thanks.
I really believe it was no coincidence TWO people spoke on this exact devo. The other is Tracy at my cup runneth over.Paula Vhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13948349907036852384noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7710381019162583843.post-11149059161317770972008-06-06T15:12:00.000-04:002008-06-06T15:12:00.000-04:00I'm with you sister! It requires patience, endurance, and perseverance along with staying out of God's way. What a tough balance! Isn't it amazing how we both keep getting the same message of "wait for the Lord" and also wait with expectation? That's where those great things come in - the expectation of what our Almighty God will do in our son's lives! The day will come and we can hold onto the promises that "He will restore the years the locusts have eaten." God is good - all the time!

Blessings and peace,
Your sister in ChristDorothy Hardenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09192717558530546043noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7710381019162583843.post-71446458259984446772008-06-06T09:51:00.000-04:002008-06-06T09:51:00.000-04:00This devotion also spoke to me. Especially the part about asking for great things.
I think possibly the hardest thing in the world to do is wait.Cyndyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11949653829747599076noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7710381019162583843.post-86151073144168137682008-06-05T15:23:00.000-04:002008-06-05T15:23:00.000-04:00Robin, there is room for great joy in your life an...Robin, there is room for great joy in your life and God is faithful, He will fill you up. He will come into your life and make miracles happen. It's wonderful that your daughter is having a good time even if she does have a bit of paint on her arm. What a wonderful experience for her. When I was a kid I would have loved going on a mission. I lift up your son every night and I'm not going to stop until he comes to Christ. That has been the essence of my prayers, that God would come your son's life and move in such a way that he has no choice but to make a choice. Also for his personal safety during all this.

((hugs))
Marj
Calaveras Co CA
http://gdlvr.blogspot.comgodloverhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02142857191507004530noreply@blogger.com
