A day of worship and rest. Real rest.

We had a better Sunday than we've had in awhile. We visited with a new family after church and then went out to lunch with another couple and enjoyed a time of fellowship, encouragement and laughter. (Our husbands share the same first name, same strange sense of humor and ordered the exact same lunch...go figure!)

Then we came home and relaxed. We love our Church home and always begin with worship, learning and serving. Afternoons are most often restful: naps, reading, old movies. Or they're a bit franctic, as when we have guests for dinner. No matter, it is a day that replenishes.

Some of my best thinking arrives on Sunday, and so too some of my most profound gratitude attacks.

Be blessed,
KathleenKathleen https://www.blogger.com/profile/05245926913888212148noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7710381019162583843.post-14681680269758738232008-10-27T06:42:00.000-04:002008-10-27T06:42:00.000-04:00Sundays are yet another adjustment for me to make....Sundays are yet another adjustment for me to make. No more rushing to get ready for church, throwing things in the crockpot or oven for Sunday dinner, no congregational gathering or singing or worshipping...

As church planters in a different culture, we are not insisting on Sunday morning church. Having the main service be in the evening works much better here. Sunday mornings and early afternoons are traditional family gathering times. Why would we want to mess with that? They do almost everything late in the evening, so why not church?

The hubby and I also had a coffee date Sunday morning :-) We walked into town and got a Sunday paper and spent a pleasant hour in a favorite coffee shop as I worked on deciphering the headlines as part of my Spanish homework.

And we came home and while I cleaned, he finished his lesson, and at 7:30 p.m. we welcomed the small group of believers and seekers and shared a time of singing and praying and studying God's Word together. And we visited for a while afterward, just enjoying the fellowship.

And so goes a typical Sunday in Carlos Paz, Argentina.Kimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13256552315634307734noreply@blogger.com
