Project 365 ~ Week 24

Well here is my week, it’s abbreviated, sort of. We took a very short vacation and I will be posting the pictures later in the week with my vacation post’s (post’s plural, I never seem to be able to wrap up a vacation in just one post). So if you want to get the full scoop on out trip to the big apple come back later in the week:)

Sunday, June 10

Sunday night was the kickoff concert for the youth choir. They head out in the morning for their annual summer youth choir tour. They have two concerts schedule and then some fun time at Disney World in Orlando. If I can get my ducks in a row I will post a video of the concert.

Monday, no pictures but the hubs dropped off the girlchild at church and they all loaded up on the bus and headed out of town which in tune freed me and the hubs up to seize the day and have a short vacating ourselves. While the cat's away the mice will play…..

We hopped a plane and headed to the Big Apple. I am planning my to post my vacation pictures later in the week, but here is a shot of Lady Liberty to whet your appetite….

Friday, June 15

We returned home Friday morning and the DD returned home later that evening. We all fell exhausted in our beds after a week of activity and fun!

The garden faired well in my absence. It had been well watered and I came home to blooming Rose of Sharon trees and my liatrope was bursting with color as well as all my containers on the patio.

I like to call this the “Back 40” I planted two long rows of corn, used the entre package of seeds and only about a third of it came up. Sadly my zucchini looks good for now but it is infested with something, the hubs did some research to find out how to treat the nasty bugs and it does not look good for the future of our veggies…..my options are seven dust, which I don’t want to do, or a long tedious process of cutting into each individual stalk looking for the worms that are residing in the base of the plant….yea for me!

We finally got to celebrate my son birthday. They all came over and while dad and son worked on the brakes of their care Auntie and Muffinhead played in the sprinkler. We tossed some ribs and chicken on the grill, I got a really good watermelon from Chadwick's and some great corn and had a very nice evening.

Well that was my week!
I hope everyone is enjoying their summer!
Remember to look for my vacation post later this week!
New York was a trip…
Blessings

Edit: If it looks like I deleted a comment from you, I was having some technical issues and for some reason the comments from last week showed up on this post and then last weeks post mysterious disappeared. So I was trying to set things in order and deleted last weeks comments from this weeks post to avoid any confusion.

Gotta Love technology.....

Love your flowers - so pretty! Sorry about your zucchini. We have two volunteer corn stalks - we'll see what they yield.
